SYSTEM OF A DOWN To Begin Recording This Summer

May 10, 2004

SYSTEM OF A DOWN are finishing up pre-production for their next album and will begin recording in early summer, according to Billboard.com. The as-yet-untitled set is expected later this year through American/Columbia Records and will be the follow-up to 2001's "Toxicity", which has sold nearly 3.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"The whole world's gone crazy over the past couple of years, so that's brought out a lot of emotions and affected our songwriting," guitarist Daron Malakian said in a statement. "We just want to make a great rock record, a record that will be heavy, but heavy in emotion, not just heavy in riffs."
